Michael Shane

Michael Shane is a self taught abstract artist residing in Sacramento, California. Michael is known for his spontaneous contemporary style that displays heavy texture and rich brush strokes. His paintings come from real life feelings and experience. Michael puts a lot of emotion into each painting. He has published a book "Life's Textures" which is filled with images of his abstract paintings and the inspiration behind his work. Michael's art shows nationally and has also been sold at the Crocker Art Museum in Sacramento, California.

Michael represents and sells work of other artist's as well.

Michael was born with a birth defect called a "Cleft Palate". This is when the infant is born with no roof at the top of the mouth, and plastic surgery is required to re-construct a new roof. Michael's mother had to feed him with a tube until he had his surgery at the age of 15 months old. The surgery is now done at 1-2 weeks old.

The Smile Train is a charitable organization that assists with surgery to infants born with similar birth defects.
